The Cobia Clinic is a cash-based clinic. What does that mean?

Instead of handling various insurance plans, we disclose our prices upfront and take payment upon completion of the visit. There are many different synonyms for a "cash-based" like concierge medicine, out of pocket, self-pay, and direct pay.
Why not take insurance?
I want to be able to tell you what your visit will cost. By not dealing with insurance, we can achieve that goal. When insurance is used it can influence the care you get. At our clinic, you and your clinician make those decisions together. Not taking insurance also allows us to keep costs low, which means lower prices for you. Finally, this gives me, the provider, more time to be with patients instead of dealing with endless insurance related tasks. I can give better care, provide lower to non-existent wait times, answer your phone calls, and not rush in and out of rooms.
Is this just for wealthy people?
No, our prices are designed to be affordable for most people. An urgent care, walk-in, or same-day visit is $85, while a scheduled appointment like a routine checkup, managing a chronic condition, or medication management is $65. Often, this cash-based model is more cost-effective than insurance-covered care. We aim to make your visit simpler and better than any other clinic experience, with straightforward pricing and a focus on providing high-quality care without the hassle of insurance.
Can you see me even if I already have another doctor?
Yes, if your primary doctor's schedule is full, come see us instead. We can bridge the gap and give care to aligned with your primary provider's plan. With greater availability and flexibility, chances are we can see you today.
