Our clinician
Mitchell Cobia
Mitchell Cobia is a family nurse practitioner. After high school he had plans on studying engineering in college but after meeting some amazing healthcare workers he was determined to join their field. After a 2-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mexico, he completed an EMT course and began to work in the pre-hospital setting. During his undergraduate studies he worked in ophthalmology, orthopedics and pain management offices and received his advanced-EMT certification. He completed a degree in a bachelor’s of science degree in athletic therapy and later in nursing at Weber State University. His nursing capstone internship was completed in Primary Children’s emergency room. As a nurse, Mitchell worked in long term care, post-acute rehabilitation and the operating room before entering graduate training at United States University. School rotations in family medicine, pediatrics and urgent care fields were completed. His terminal paper examined the relationship of diet interventions versus exercise interventions and their corresponding effect on body mass index reduction. Now, he enjoys time with his two boys and wife. He considers himself a perpetual student and is always finishing a class or with his nose in a book. Mitchell is Spanish speaking.
